Bradley Mitchell Frans

Bradley “Brad” Mitchell Frans, 53, passed away on July 6, 2024. He was a native of Gonzales, Louisiana, and a resident of Tyler, Texas. He was born on February 22, 1971. Brad graduated from East Ascension High School in 1989. Upon graduating, he obtained a certification in Industrial AC/Refrigeration, where he worked for various companies and had an opportunity to work at the 1996 Olympics. Brad then decided to make a career change and attended Louisiana Tech University, where he obtained his degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1998. It was there that Brad met the love of his life, Dana Lambert Frans. They were married on November 24, 2000. Brad later obtained an Executive Masters of Business Degree at Louisiana State University in 2001. He worked for the Motiva/Texaco entity in Convent, La. The entity then merged with Shell Chemical, where Brad worked in Geismar, La. For many years, he worked in various roles of management in chemicals and refinery. During this time he also received his professional engineering license. While working for Shell, he and his beautiful family spent 2 years living in Sarnia, Ontario. Upon completion of his project in Canada, he returned to Louisiana for a short time, where he sought out his ultimate goal to be a plant manager. He achieved this goal during the remainder of his career working at Delek in Tyler, Texas, where he was VP General Manager of the Tyler Refinery from 2017 until 2021. He then became senior Vice President of Operations for 4 refineries in Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas until 2023. His current role was Senior VP of Environmental Health and Safety at Delek, Inc. Brad prided himself on being a career-driven, motivated professional as well as a provider for his beautiful family. Brad is survived by his wife of 24 years, Dana Lambert Frans; his three children, Ashlyn Elizabeth Frans (19), Carter Bradley Frans (17), and Brooks David Frans (16). He is also survived by his mother, Carol Von Kanel Wiltz; his father, James Frans ( Mary) his brother, Bart Richard Frans; in-laws, David and Debbie Lambert; brothers-in-law, David Lambert, Jr. (Jesse), Derek Lambert (Jessica), and Dusty Lambert (Monique). He is also survived by an endless amount nieces and nephews, wonderful extended family and friends. Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents, Max and Francis Von Kanel and Jack and Hazel Frans; his uncles, Rudy Frans and Herbert Von Kanel; his aunt Sandra Kidman; and his best friend, Bart Breaux. Brad was a loving husband, father, son, and friend who was loved by everyone who knew him. He loved to travel and give his family wonderful life experiences and vacations. Brad had many hobbies and interests, but none greater than spending time with family and friends, hosting get-togethers and making people laugh. Pallbearers will be Carter Frans, Brooks Frans, David Lambert, Jr., Derek Lambert, and Dusty Lambert. Bart Frans will be honorary the pallbearer. FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS HERE TEXAS AND LOUISIANA Texas Visitation is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler, Texas with a Rosary from 1:00 to 1:20 p.m. A Requiem Mass will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Tyler, Texas. Louisiana Memorial services will be on Monday, July 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 15208 Highway 73, Prairieville, LA 70769. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or plant a memorial tree in memory of Brad. He would love that!
