Services for Marion Glenn Williams Jr., 80, of Tyler, will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 4900 Kinsey Drive, Tyler, Texas, with Pastor Martin Moore officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Visitation is scheduled from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. Graveside Service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 15, in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, 1701 Austin Hwy, in San Antonio, Texas with Reverend Gerald Metzger officiating. Glenn passed away Friday, March 10, 2023, in Tyler. Glenn was born May 11, 1942, in Houston, Texas to Marion Glenn Williams, Sr. and Thelma Willa Schultz Williams. He married Dorothy Louise Kessler on May 25, 1974. Glenn was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Tyler, Texas. He was an Eagle Scout, and Cub Scout Leader. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in1964. Glenn enjoyed a 42-year career as a scientist, all spent within The University of Texas System: UTMB Galveston, UT Austin, UT San Antonio Medical School, and UT Health Science Center Tyler. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 40 years, Dorothy, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is survived by his loving family, including daughter, Heather Eileen Williams; son-in-law, Edgar Espinoza Errasquin; 17 loving cousins and their families; and many loving friends he made throughout his 80 well-lived years. Glenn loved God, his family and friends, the church he belonged to and its members, science, gardening, gadgets, prepping, learning new survival skills, and visiting with everyone. He never met a stranger. The family extends its tremendous gratitude to the caring staff, who helped Glenn through his illnesses and supported his family, while at Christus Mother Frances Hospital, Petal Hill Skilled Nursing Center, Azalea Trails Assisted Living, Briarcliff Skilled Nursing Center, and Home Place Hospice of East Texas. They are angels on Earth who made this time a more peaceful one for Glenn and his family.
