Alexandria Conway

A requiem mass for Alex Conway, 18, of Frankston will be held on Thursday, May 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Father Timothy Kelly officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler. Alexandria Danisse Conway was born February 29, 1992 in Tyler to Gregory and Trisha Conway. She was a lifelong resident of Frankston. From the beginning, Alex was a light shining brightly to those around her. When she was four years old, Robert “Ponch” Taylor came into her life. Alex was a very active little girl who loved skating, participating in dance classes at Candy Crocker School of Dance, and playing basketball with the Brownsboro Little Dribblers. She had fun shopping with her aunts and playing dress up, but was equally comfortable wearing cowboy boots, riding bikes, spending time at the deer lease or learning to work on race cars. Anyone who met Alex will never forget her big smile and the bow she wore in her hair. Alex attended Brownsboro schools and was currently a senior at Brownsboro High School. School was very important to her; she worked hard to keep a perfect attendance record. Whether she was working on the yearbook staff, playing her flute in the band, playing volleyball, or running track, Alex gave 100 percent in every area. She was a very intelligent young lady and was proud to be an active member of the National Honor Society. She had taken classes at Tyler Junior College and Trinity Valley Community College, and had planned to attend TJC after graduation. She was employed at Academy Sports and worked for Tyler Weathermakers during the summer months. Alex touched the lives of many people. She was a very caring, loving and outgoing young lady who had a special way with people, especially children. Alex is survived by a loving family including her mom and dad, Robert and Trisha Taylor of Frankston; father and wife, Gregory and Sharla Conway of Hobbs, New Mexico; brothers, Kurtis Taylor and wife Amanda of Jacksonville and Justin Taylor of Tyler; nephew, Hayden Taylor; grandparents, Loretta Taylor of Frankston, Karen Conway of Tyler, Diane Mann, Monty Hough, and W.N. Mann, all of Mineola; and great-grandmother, Della Trevino of Tyler. She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, O’Rena Mann; great-grandfather Richard Trevino; grandfather, Patrick Conway, one uncle, three aunts, and two cousins. Pallbearers will be Troy Mann, Dennie Gieber, Scott Tucker, James Conway, Joe Stone, Gibbs Chapman, and Brent Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Williams and Qwik Race Cars, the Penn Creek Hunting Club, the Brownsboro Volleyball Team, the Brownsboro National Honor Society, the Brownsboro Band, and Tyler Weathermakers, Inc. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 5, 2010 from 6:00-7:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. A Liturgy of the Word Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Father Timothy Kelly officiating. If desired, memorials may be made to the Alex Conway Tragedy Fund c/o Southside State Bank, P.O.
