Services for Barbara Ann Brown, 73 of Tyler, Texas, will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11:00 AM at Highland Presbyterian Church with Rev Dave Smith and Rev Scott Mackey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lee Cemetery in Winnsboro, TX under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown passed, Monday, November 13, 2006 at the East Texas Medical City in Tyler. She was born June 27, 1933 in St. Louis, MO to the late Al G. and N. Erlyne Hinckley. Mrs. Brown lived most of her early years in Cincinnati, OH where she attended high school then soon moved to Mineola where she graduated in 1951. She moved on to Texas State College of Women (TWU) in Denton, TX where she graduated with her BS Degree. She worked for the Texas Wildlife Association and the VA during the late fifties. She later became a Speech Pathologist in Dallas, Tyler, and finally retiring at Canton ISD. Barbara enjoyed reading and shopping but dedicated her life to be a strong single mother who loved spending time with her friends and family. She was a diligent worker for the Highland Presbyterian Church who served as an elder and cared for the elderly and had the gift of hospitality. Most of all Barbara will be remembered as a loving and caring person with a servant's heart. She was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving family including her son, David Chastant of Tyler; daughter, Jamie Sullins and husband Gerald of Arlington; grandchildren, Michael, Joshua, and Chrstina Chastant of Tyler, grandchildren, Ryan and Amanda Sullins of Arlington; sister, Jane Kessler of San Diego, CA; great grandchildren, Keely, Will, and Kennedy Chastant of Tyler; Many life long friends and her beloved dog Scooter. Pallbearers will be Ryan Sullins, Clayton Kennon, Jason Chastant, Richard Hill, Jerry Ragan, and Charles Browning. Honorary Pallbearers will be Henry Murphy, Homer Evans, and Les Sherick. The family will receive friends from 5:00- 7:00PM Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., Tyler, Texas 75703.
