Betty Jean Sieber

Betty Jean Sieber formerly of Troup, Texas died peacefully at the age of 90 on August 6, 2016. Betty was born December 19, 1925, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the daughter of Theodore and Dora Coryell. Betty was a devout Christian woman whose faith and belief in God never wavered. Betty was a proud and long time member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Whitehouse, Texas for over 46 years. Betty was very faithful to her church and loved her church family very deeply. Betty graduated from Arp High School at the age of 17. She was a devout and loving wife and mother. Betty married the love of her life, Cecil Bryan Sieber (Ceeb) on May 25, 1949, in Arp Texas. Betty and Ceeb celebrated life together as husband and wife for 57 years and 11 months. After Ceeb retired from The United States Air force in 1968, they bought a house and land in Troup, Texas where they raised their two daughters Jeanne and Leisa. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Betty was also a career woman. Betty worked for Pioneer Bank and Trust in Shreveport, Louisiana and First National Bank of Whitehouse for a combined 40 plus years where she served as head teller for each bank. During this time Betty set an example of professionalism and a very strong work ethic that was an example to all that she worked with and especially her two daughters. Betty had a love of animals, all animals that seemed to be second to none. Another passion that Betty had was that of reading. Betty loved reading anything and everything she could find, especially her bible. Betty is preceded in death by her father, Theodore Coryell; mother, Dora Coryell; husband, Cecil Bryan (Ceeb) Sieber and sisters, Gloria Speer and Dora Gipson. Betty is survived by daughter, Jeanne Johnston and husband Joe Johnston of Flint, Texas; daughter, Leisa Geddie of Mixon, Texas; granddaughters, Carol Johnston of Bullard, Texas and Melissa Johnston of Prosper, Texas; grandson, Bryan Jacob Woodall of Mixon, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and loving family and friends. Pallbearers will be John Stokes, Darwin Stainback, Vanoy Tucker, Wayne Richey, Carl King and Scott Dowdy. Honorary pallbearers are the Deacons of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Whitehouse, Texas. The family will receive friends at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 1:00 PM Thursday, August 11, 2016 with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Bennie Portwood officiating. Private burial will be at Pine Crest Cemetery in Troup under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request honoring Betty with donations to The Hospice of East Texas Foundation, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, TX 75701 or Mt.
