Claude Forrest Malone

Claude Forrest Malone went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2024. Forrest was born on February 21, 1931, in Big Spring, Texas. He was raised in Troup, Texas, and was a graduate of Longview High School. Forrest attended Kilgore Junior College and then transferred to Baylor University where he received a degree in Math and Physics and two master’s Degrees in nuclear physics and aerospace engineering. Shortly after graduation, he married the love of his life, Theo, and they began their family in Fort Worth Texas. Forrest and Theo raised their children in the church and taught them about the love of Jesus. Forrest taught his children how to play the piano. The house was always filled with laughter and music. He was hired by N.A.S.A. and was in the first building “built” at the Johnson Space Center in Houston. His work on the Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle Missions was exciting for the whole family. He and Theo were charter members of three Baptist Churches in the Nasa Area during the population growth. Their commitment to serving the Lord was the priority in their lives. After his retirement, they moved to Tyler. They became active members of Green Acres Baptist Church. After Theo’s death in 2017, Forrest’s best friend and companion was Sophie; his sweet Old English Sheepdog. She gave great comfort and enjoyment to Forrest, and he gave the very best care to her. Forrest is preceded in death by his wife, Theo Malone; his son, Darryl Malone; his daughter, Molly McClelland; his brother, James Malone; his parents, Leta and Claude Malone. He is survived by his daughter Dawn Hahn (Mark) and daughter Julianne; daughter-in-law Sheri Malone Rogge (John); his granddaughters Bonnie Smith (Chris), Melanie Roberts (Jarrett), Lisa Olson, Kayla Olson (Andrew), Amy Wallner (Jeremy), Lori Holubec (Cody), and Miranda; his great-grandchildren Annalee, Madeline, Macie, Marilynn, Mitchell, Graham, Jordan, Jackson, Jayden, London, Olivia, James, Gianna, Otto, and Olive; his great-great-grandchildren, Lyla, Everleigh, Penelope, and Ryker.
