Dale Edward Reel

Dale Edward Reel, 85, of Whitehouse, Texas, moved to his eternal home on September 24, 2025, surrounded by family. Born September 29, 1939, in Tyler, Texas to E.P. Reel and Iva Pool Reel. He was a hard worker his entire life, beginning as a truck driver for his father’s nursery business until he got a real job working at United Gas Company. His next job was at USI until he discovered he really liked to sell things such as cars, boats, and motor homes. He found his niche in real estate selling homes and land. In 1979, he built his own office at the present location of Starbucks. His final location was the pretty red brick office on Hwy 110 North. He loved every one of his 54 years as a salesman and Real Estate Broker. During that time he was honored as Realtor of the Year by the National Association of Realtors. He enjoyed meeting people as he served as a Notary Public for the State of Texas, and also managed multiple rental properties. One of his favorite duties was serving the people he loved as the Mayor of Whitehouse for several years. Dale loved God and serving as Deacon, church treasurer, Sunday School teacher, organizer, and director for church trips to Branson, Colorado skiing, and even viewing Christmas lights in Natchitoches, LA. He also shared his time singing with friends to the nursing home residents. However, one of his greatest joys was traveling with his beloved wife of 58 years in their motor home. He also loved touring the back roads with special friends in his convertible. Those left behind to navigate life without Dale are his wife Sylvia; son Scott and Laurie Reel and their children Addison and Lexi; grandchildren Steven and Grace Bryant, Shelby and Eric Holland and their children Atticus and Lincoln; Savanna and Jarrett Bozarth; and many other relatives and friends. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Melissa Smith. Our lives will never be the same, but he will forever be in our hearts. He will also be on our minds every time we see a pretty, extremely clean red Ford truck or a fancy motor home. Pallbearers are Todd Kelly, Drew Kelly, Benjamin Pate, Doyle Morse, Steve Helms, and Stephen Tompkins. Services for Dale will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Tyler First Assembly of God Church with Rev. Bruce Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. before the service. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
