Debbie Jones

God’s beautiful child Debbie Jones went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 2, 2024. Debbie was born in Flint, MI., to Harold and Delores Pigue on May 30, 1957. The family eventually moved to Little Rock, AR, where Debbie graduated from Parkview HS and met her future husband, Greg, and they married in 1976. Debbie leaves behind her husband of 47 years, Greg; son Jason and wife Kellie of Coatesville, IN; son Steve and wife Robyn of Rowlett, TX; her mother Delores James of Little Rock, AR; a sister Diane Coffman of Carmel, IN; a brother Kevin Pigue of Little Rock; granddaughter Julie Dereka and husband Jim of Zionsville, IN; granddaughter Morgan Jones of Morgantown, KY; granddaughter Peyton Jones of Rowlett, TX; and great-grandchildren Jude and Margot Dereka of Zionsville, IN. She also leaves many cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunts, not to mention innumerable friends and colleagues from all over the place. She was preceded in passing by her father Harold Pigue, an older brother, Jerry Pigue and a younger brother, Michael Pigue. Studying God’s word, living her life to glorify Him, and uplifting the lives of others was her purpose in life. God blessed her with a special talent for identifying those who were feeling left out or down and out, and she always acted to bring them into God’s light, some way somehow. Her desire to minister to others led her to college for the first time at age 45 and by the time she was 50, she had completed her master's degree at Stephen F. Austin University in dietetic sciences and became a Registered Dietician. She ministered to many patients and co-workers at Tyler Continued Care Hospital for many years. Always tackling whatever life placed in her path with a smile and no complaints, Debbie finished strong even under the terrible trials' cancer brought into her life. She was a light for all, even as the Lord called her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Shiloh Road Church of Christ on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at 2:00pm. There will be visitation time at the church from 1:00pm-2:00pm, with a private family graveside at the Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler afterwards.
