Doris Marilyn Jones Lane

Services for Doris Jones Lane, 79, of Tyler, will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2015, at 2:30 PM at Green Acres Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Paul Powell and Rev. Curtis Crofton officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral In The Pines in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Lane passed away Monday, August 24, 2015 in Tyler. She was born November 14, 1935 in Crockett to Lester and Opal Jones. She graduated from Crockett High School. Mrs. Lane was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for almost 40 years. She also served as a pastor’s secretary at Green Acres and was a secretary at Trane for several years. The pride and joy of Mrs. Lane’s life was her family and Texas A&M aggies. Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her first husband, Cliff Jones and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Jones and in-laws, Bro. and Mrs. E. L. Jones. Mrs. Lane leaves a brother, George Jones of Lovelady; brother, Roger Jones of Wichita Falls; sister, Nelda McCain of Crockett and brother, Jimmy Jones of Waxahachie. Mrs. Lane is survived by her loving family including husband, Roland Lane; daughter, Melanye Hull of Tyler; son, Mark Jones and wife Missy of Longview; step-daughter, Tessara Taylor and husband, Dennis of Tyler; step-son, Phillip Lane and wife Beth of Longview; grandsons, Shane Jones and wife Michelle of Tyler, Caleb Jones of Longview, Kyle Brown of Tallahassee, Florida, David Brown of Tampa, Florida, Ryan Cockrell and Markie of Forney, Austin Cockrell of Tyler, Colton Taylor of Tyler, Luke Lane of Longview and Jacob Hackler of Dallas; two great-grandchildren, Easton Cockrell and Abigail Hackler. Pallbearers will be Jerry Yandell, Jim Powell, Jim Wright, Fred Hull, Dennis Taylor and Phillip Lane. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
