Evelyn Ann Albright Coleman

Evelyn Ann Albright Coleman celebrated her arrival into Heaven on September 8, 2026, four days shy of her 99th birthday, September 12, 1927. What a celebration it was as she was lovingly greeted by her husband of 73 years, Billy Hubbard Coleman, Sr. Together they began their heavenly reunion! Ann grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. After graduating from high school, she moved to Commerce, Texas to attend East Texas State University. Ann received a Bachelor's Degree in Education and a Masters Degree in Counseling and met her future husband, Bill, who also received his degrees in education. After a short time in Dallas, they made Tyler their home. Ann lived her legacy serving Tyler ISD students as counselor at Roberts Junior High School, Physical Education and Cheerleader Sponsor at Hubbard Middle School and counselor at John Tyler High School for a combined 35 years. Bill was a well-respected and dearly loved coach at Dixie Elementary and Boulter Middle School. For over four decades the Coleman team inspired students, leading by example and with integrity. Because of Ann's and Bill's combined dedication and commitment to education in Tyler ISD, they were honored in 2015 to have the new Three Lakes Middle School’s gym bear their name ~ The Ann and Bill Coleman Gymnasium. TISD received hundreds of letters of support from former students, teachers and friends paying homage to Mrs. Coleman and Coach Coleman! Ann and Bill were passionate about travel visiting half the contiguous United States, Alaska and Hawaii as well as Canada, Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Panama Canal. Pagosa Springs, Colorado, was their summer home for 40 years! Bill fished the rivers while Ann followed along the banks with a camp chair and a book! Ann dearly loved her three children and their families ~ daughter Vicki and Tommy Neill, granddaughter Whitney and Matt Fate, great-grandsons Sam and Griffin; granddaughter Tayler and Kevin Porter, great-grandchildren Myles Elizabeth and Spencer David; son Hub and Patty Coleman, grandson Clay Coleman and Bridgette McClain, granddaughter Kasey and Daniel Roden, great-grandchildren Sidney and Coleman; grandson Kurt and Destiny Coleman, great-grandson Ryder; daughter Mandi and Mike Watson, granddaughter Bailey Ann and grandson Coleman and Grace Watson. Ann's Celebration of Life will be held at Stewart Family Funeral Home, Tyler, Saturday, September 19, at 10:00am In lieu of floral arrangements, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Tyler, TX.
