Jack Bryans

Surrounded by love from his family, Robert "Jack" Taylor Bryans went to be with Jesus on November 13, 2022. He was born on March 16, 2013 in Tyler, Texas. In January of 2016, Jack was diagnosed with Leigh Syndrome and as this cruel disease would slowly cause him to lose his abilities throughout his life, he never lost his joy, even until the end. Jack is survived by his parents, Casey and Renae Bryans and his siblings, Luke and his wife Amelia, Jordan, and Molly Bryans. His grandparents Jackie Reily, Robert and Carol Bryans, and Ronnie and Shanna Reily and many other loving family members and friends who adored him. Jack needed help all of his life but he had no limits. He lived life to the fullest, greeting every new day with excitement and joy. He considered every day, the best day ever! Jack led by example with his genuine, unconditional love that he had for everyone and the way he chose joy in everything, which is why he was known as Joyful Jack. Jack was involved in many activities from riding horses at Starbrite, playing baseball in the Challenger League, participating in APEC's adaptive athlete program, and driving his battery powered jeep throughout the neighborhood. He loved playing with his family and friends, reading books, playing Fall Guys on the X-Box, feeding the giraffes and birds at the zoo, dueling with light sabers, playing games, and snuggling with his beloved dog, Ella, who was always right by his side. Jack loved to learn and had the privilege to attend Andy Woods Elementary School where he was deeply loved by his teachers, staff, and classmates. Jack was awarded the honor of being the 2018 Children's Miracle Network Miracle child and enjoyed all of the fun opportunities that came with this role including getting to light the Christmas tree for the City of Tyler. Jack took his candy and his "chippies" very seriously - he would have eaten smarties and chips for every meal if his parents allowed him to (and they often did). Jack was his siblings' biggest fan and cheered them on at all of their activities and games. They returned the favor and were so proud of their little brother and supported him with his activities and joked about his many public appearances. Jack was known for his signature bandanas, custom wheels for his wheelchair and epic Halloween costumes, made lovingly by his dad. He was funny and loved to make people laugh, and he had an amazing belly laugh. Most importantly Jack will be remembered for his joyous spirit and his love for others. He drew people to him with his infectious huge smile and positive and determined attitude. He was so kind and full of compassion for others. He gave the best hugs and always told people that he loved them. Jack demonstrated that life should be valued by how we love not by what we can or cannot do. Visitation will be Thursday, November 17, from 5:00 to 7:00 at Stewart Family Funeral Home and then family and friends will celebrate Jack's life Friday, November 18, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church on Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler with Pastor Doug Clark officiating. Pallbearers will be Jake Adams, Trent Adams, Jake Bryans, Caleb Glenney, Josh Glenney, and Cody Holly Honorary pallbearers will be his friends in the Andy Woods Elementary third grade class. Because of Jack's love for baseball, donations can be made in Jack's honor to: The Miracle League of Tyler, a fully accessible baseball field coming soon at Faulkner Park.
