Jimmie Procell

Jimmie Martin (Jim) Procell, age 78, passed from this life on April 24, 2006 in Tyler, Texas and is now resting in peace with our Lord Jesus Christ. Jim was born on April 12, 1928 in a Boxcar at the foot of Mile High Hill in Northern Sabine County. Jim graduated from Hemphill High School in 1946 as President of his class, class favorite, and most likely to succeed. He was a graduate of Tyler Commercial College and the University of Texas in Austin, and attained a BBA in 3 years in the field of Insurance. Jim was also a member of the US Army with service in Germany. He did several things during his life including washing dishes, logging, welding, carpentry, Funeral Director, and Insurance Examiner for the State. He began working at Combined Underwriters Life Insurance Company in 1960 where he was an Agent, Vice President, President, and eventually Vice Chairman until he retired in 2002. Jim was a member and past President of the Cedars of Lebanon Club, member and past President of the Optimist Club, was on the Tyler Catholic School Board, the Church Finance Committee, honorary initiated member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity, and was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Rosie Lee Hatchl Procell, and brother, Peter Procell. Jim is survived by Amelia Kamel Procell; son, Paul Procell of Arlington; daughters, Yvonne Marie Procell of Dallas and Denise Procell Hallmark and husband Shane of Spring; grandson, Paul Anthony Procell of Arlington; five sisters; Alice Procell and Martha Barcheers of Hemphill, Shirley Rhame Marsh and husband Jim of Jasper, Mary Prud'homme and husband Joe of Tyler, and Linda Wright and husband Jim of Beaumont; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Bill Barcheers, Waylon Rhame, David Rhame, Joe Prud'homme, Steve Prud'homme, John David Procell, Jason Procell, Mike Wright, Garrett Wright, Mark Waldrep, and Steve Kamel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson, Joe Martel, Johnnie Stewart, Dr. Joe Prud'homme, Walden P. 'Red' Little, Anthony Kamel, A.J. Procell, Shane Hallmark, Don Payne, and W.C. Hauk. Rosary will be recited by Father Joseph Nasser of Hemphill Parish 5:00 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., south Tyler, 75703, and the family will receive visitation following. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Dan Daugherty 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2006 at The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family graciously acknowledges with gratitude and appreciation each expression of love and sympathy extended during this period of bereavement.
