Dr. John Guy Enloe

Dr. John Guy Enloe, 65, of Tyler, Texas, passed away on March 21, 2026, after battling double pneumonia and Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). He was surrounded by family and loved ones. John was born on June 19, 1960, in Beaumont, Texas to Paul and Jane Enloe. His love for the outdoors began at an early age nurtured by his close-knit family. Holidays and vacations typically included outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, hiking, or even wrestling his brother in the backyard where he learned humility in defeat. Some of his fondest childhood memories were their annual family vacations to Rocky Mountain National Park. He was always excited and eager to get up and start the day no matter what was on the schedule. After graduating from high school, John attended Texas A&M University at College Station, where he pursued a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He then followed his calling into dentistry and attended UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. It was there that he met his beloved wife, Darlene. John and Darlene were married on June 29, 1985, in San Antonio. Shortly after, they moved to Crockett, Texas, where John began his dental career. In 1987, they were called to Tyler, Texas where John established his own dental practice and faithfully served his community for many years. John’s great joy for the outdoors, especially fishing, gave him a deep appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation. Above all, he had a heart for serving others. Through his dental skills and generous spirit, he participated in mission trips to Mexico and Brazil with the Amazon Outreach program, providing care and compassion to those in need. He has been a faithful member of First Baptist Church Tyler since 1987, where he served as a deacon and on numerous committees, most recently the missions committee. In prior years, he was also a member of Gideons International and the Rotary Club. He and Darlene were among the pioneer families who started First Baptist Church South Campus, now South Springs Baptist Church. His faith was the foundation of his life and guided his service to others. John will be remembered as a humble, kind, and wise man with a unique sense of humor. He was supportive, encouraging, consistent, and selfless in all that he did. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched; through his work, his service, and the love he so generously shared with family, friends, and his community. John’s faith in God was the cornerstone of his life, and his greatest earthly joy was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Darlene; son Terence and wife Meagan of Dallas; daughter Meredith of Tyler; daughter Elizabeth and fiancé Brandon Johnson of Dallas; brother Dave and wife Leslie of Houston; brother-in-law Paul Higgins of Ft. Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Jane Enloe, and sister Molly Enloe Higgins. Services for John will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Tyler with Rev. Pike Wisner officiating. Interment will follow in the Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler.
