Judson Davis

Services for Judson Daniel Davis, 23, Tyler, are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, January 24, 2005 at Green Acres Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Billups, Rev. David Sutton, Rev. Dan Lay, and Dr. David Dykes officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield, TX under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Davis died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 while traveling with the University of Texas Longhorn Band to participate in the presidential inaugural parade in Washington, D.C. He was born to Warren Judson & Linda Willard Davis on September 17, 1981 in Tyler. Mr. Davis lived in Tyler most of his life and resided in Austin while he attended the University of Texas. After graduating from Whitehouse High School in 2000, he attended Texas A&M University and earned a B.B.A. in Finance. He also received an Associates Degree in Business from Tyler Junior College. He then attended the University of Texas in Austin and was a member of the U.T. Longhorn Band, Big Bertha Drum Crew, the Longhorn Basketball Band, and Tejas Club. While at U.T., he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Kinesiology and was currently a graduate student seeking a Masters Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management. He enjoyed running, biking, backpacking, and swimming. He was an Eagle Scout with Troop 335 at First Christian Church, Tyler. While living in Tyler, he was active in mission work, enjoyed participating in choir and orchestra, and working with kids at summer camps at Green Acres Baptist Church. Survivors include his parents, Warren & Linda Davis of Tyler; his brother, Benjamin Joseph Davis; his paternal grandparents, Lee Judson & Kathryn Davis; his maternal grandfather, James E. Willard; his maternal grandmother, Deloris Willard; uncles, George Davis and James D. Willard; aunts, Kathy Sladek and Sissy Awalt; numerous cousins, great-aunts and uncles, as well as a host of friends. Pallbearers are Chris Waggoner, Jeremy Anderson, Matt Cates, Aaron Hegvedzt, Ben Geib, Terry Albea, Chris Arnold, and Julius Jackson. Honorary Pallbearers are the Members of the Tejas Club and the University of Texas Longhorn Band. Visitation will be held from 3:00-5:00 P.M. Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., South Tyler. If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 1301 S.
