Larry P. Branch

Services for Larry P. Branch, 74, of Tyler will be held on Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral home in Tyler with Pastors James E. Dill and Thomas Saali officiating. Burial will follow in Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Branch passed away Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 in Tyler with his family, who he dearly loved, at his side. He was born May 27, 1940 in Pahokee, FL to Blanchard and Edna Upthegrove Branch. Mr. Branch graduated from Martin County, FL High School, class of 1958. After marrying Carol Ann David of Southfield, MI he began his career with Metropolitan Life. He worked for Metropolitan for 10 years in Florida, rising to the level of Manager and winning National sales awards. A lifelong dream to live in the American West led Mr. Branch to move to South Dakota in 1972, where he started his business as a Real Estate Land Developer. He continued his love of the outdoors and expressed that passion throughout his career developing beautiful and unique properties in South Dakota, Georgia and Texas until shortly before his death. Mr. Branch was preceded in death by his father, Blanchard Branch. Larry is survived by his loving family, including his wife of nearly 53 years, Carol Ann David Branch; mother, Edna Griggs, Pensacola, FL; son and daughter-in-law, David and Heather Branch; daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Mark Brandon; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Ladonna Branch, all of Tyler; seven grandchildren, Landen McGee, Blake Langley and wife Tonya, Tyler, Banks Brandon and Grant Brandon, of Dallas, Aubrey Brandon, Kate Branch, and Anne Branch; one great-grandchild, Grayson Langley, all of Tyler; brother, Blanchard Branch and wife Gloria of Bradenton, FL; and brother Max Griggs, Pensacola, FL. He also leaves behind many other family and friends who were so special to him. Pallbearers will be Edwin E. Smith, Tom Bryant, Mark Brandon, and grandsons Blake Langley, Banks Brandon, and Grant Brandon. Honorary pallbearer will be Grayson Langley, great-grandson. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, 2014, from1 to 2 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
