Larry Reed

A Celebration of Larry H. Reed’s Life, 61 of Bullard is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel in Tyler with Brother Chuck Biscoe officiating. Burial will be at Bullard Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Larry joined Jesus, Tuesday, December 20, 2011, peacefully, with his family by his side. He was born July 6, 1950, in Jacksonville to Marvin Hoyle and Ellen Elizabeth Reed. Larry graduated from Bullard High School, Tyler Junior College, and Texas A&M University in 1972. Larry was very well known around East Texas. He served in many different communities, and on many organizations through East Texas. He served on the East Texas Farm and Ranch Club committee, and East Texas State Fair Board of Directors, Smith County Forage and Livestock Committee, Tyler Saddle Club Past Director, 4-H Equine Club Leader, Tyler Junior College Farm and Ranch Program Advisory Committee, Bullard Cemetery Association, Bullard City Council, Bullard Young Farmer Chapter Past President, Bullard Southern Baptist Church Charter member, Deacon and Trustee, Emory Lions Club, Emory Chamber of Commerce, Rains County Livestock committee, Rains County Chamber of Commerce, Rains County Beef and Forage Committee, Rains County Boys and Girls Club, and Rains County Fair Association, just to name a few. Larry was in banking business for 35 years, receiving many honors, and retired from Austin Bank in 2008. Larry was preceded in death by his father and mother. He is survived by his loving family including his son, Chad Reed and his wife Kelly of Tyler; daughter, Ashley Flynn and husband Sean of Weatherford; sister, Lynda Reed Poskey of Bullard; grandchildren, Laurel Reed, Annabelle Reed, Sterling Reed, Mikel Reed, Madison Flynn and Ryder Flynn. Pallbearers will be Tommy Roper, Lee Teasdale, Bruce Stripling, Charles Ray, Bobby Hood, David Thedford, Steve Frazier and Terry Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Wilkinson, Louie Woodall, Ron Davis, Phil Sadler, Jeff Austin, Jr., Rick Waldrop, George Holland and Joe Sharp. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 to 8:00 P.m., Monday, December 26, 2011 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
