Lewis Dwight Campbell

Lewis Dwight Campbell, (90), of Tyler, TX was born June 24, 1928, in Dallas, TX to Ross Lewis Campbell and Myrtle May Carver Campbell. He passed away peacefully on November 14, 2018, at HomePlace – Hospice of East Texas. Lewis married Dorothy Patricia “Pat” Davis Campbell on May 31, 1952. He was predeceased by his wife of 48 years, on January 1, 2001. Lewis was also predeceased by his father, Ross Lewis Campbell, his mother, Myrtle May Campbell, sister, Mary Juanita Faulhaber, sister, Betty Jean Jensen and brother-in-law Lloyd Jensen. Lewis is survived by daughter, Kimberly Ann Hines and husband, Billy D. Hines, of Richardson, TX, daughter, Tammy Sue Weingand and husband, Mark Weingand, of Richardson, TX, son, Michael Lewis Campbell and wife, Daphne Campbell, of Tyler, TX and daughter, Stacey Lynn Matteo and husband, Chris Matteo, of Forney, TX, grandchildren, Michelle Hawkins and husband, Chris Hawkins, Lori Burden and husband, Brent Burden, Cody Hines, Ashley Lynn Campbell, Alexandria Nicole Smith, Addison Patricia Campbell, Sophie Matteo and great-grandchildren Karlee Hawkins, Billy Hawkins, Ryan Hawkins, Zoey Burden, John Weston Smith and Harrison Colt Smith and brother-in-law, Roy Faulhaber, as well as several nieces and nephews. Lewis was a faithful member of Marvin United Methodist Church and the Friendly Sunday School Class, since 1983, where he served as greeter/usher for the Friendly Sunday School Class. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Marvin United Methodist Church, 300 West Erwin Street, Tyler, TX, 75702, on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather in remembrance of Lewis, in the parlor , at Marvin, immediately after the service. All are welcome. Lewis’ family would like to thank Dr. Doug Baker, Pastor Gerry Giles and Pastor David Dorn, of Marvin United Methodist Church, the staff at Reunion Plaza Senior Care Center and the staff at HomePlace – Hospice of East Texas, for their loving care, prayers and support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Marvin United Methodist Church, Tyler, TX and/or HomePlace – Hospice of East Texas.
