Linda Ann Parker

A Celebration of Life for Linda Ann Parker, 79 of Longview, Texas, will be held on February 11, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler, Texas, with Pastor James Bonamy oﬃciating. A private burial will be held at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler. Linda passed away peacefully Friday, February 6, 2026, in Longview, Texas. She was born on November 11, 1946, in Henderson, Texas, to Helen Irene and Lewis Thomas Giles. Her mom said, “they blew bugles” when she was born because of Veterans Day. Linda was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Henderson and she was attending Grace Creek Church in Longview in the last few years. She graduated from Henderson High School in 1965 and continued her education at Texas Women’s University in Denton, graduating in 1969, receiving a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Linda began her career completing her rotation at Parkland Hospital in Dallas and then moving on to work with disturbed and abused children in a Dallas Clinic. Upon returning to Henderson, she became an ER nurse at the hospital in Overton and then she became a school nurse for Henderson Independent School District. She worked very hard for her underprivileged kiddos. She also worked part-time at Mother Francis Three Tower(Med-Surge) so Holly could continue her education. Linda retired from nursing in 2015 and began traveling and living a beautiful life with her husband, Danny. Linda has been penned “the quintessential Southern Lady. She was a fantastic Southern cook, she was a regular East Texas Martha Stewart and she loved Southern Living, antiquing, traveling and cooking a Thanksgiving and Christmas Day meal that would feed an army! She loved her “Holly” aka Tudor and her “Josh” aka Joshawoo. Linda was preceded in death by her husband Danny M. Parker and her parents Helen Irene and Lewis Thomas Giles Jr. She is survived by her loving family including her daughter Holly and husband Josh; her brother Stanley E. Giles; and friend Olga Amaya. We want to extend our gratitude and love to Linda’s caregivers, Silve Reyes and her daughter Carmen and to Heartsway Hospice. Pallbearers will be Josh Gonzalez, Larry Parker, Stanley Giles, David Griffith, Donny Griffith, and Randy Griffith. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler
