Luby LeNorman

Services for Luby LeNorman, Jr., 84, of Tyler, will be held on Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplin Rev. David Hicks officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery. Mr. LeNorman passed away, Saturday, January 2, 2010 in Tyler. He was born August 2, 1925 in Teague to Luby and Inez Porter LeNorman. Mr. LeNorman was raised in Iola and Richards and was a graduate of Richards High School and attended Texas A&M University and Sam Houston State University. Luby served in the U.S. Marines during WW II. He taught High School Industrial Arts and Drivers Education at West Columbia, Bryan, Deer Park and in Ft. Stockton where he retired in 1987. He had a home in Pagosa Springs, Colorado where he and Annie enjoyed living six months out of the year. He was active in the Lions Club and loved hiking, fishing, mountain climbing, riding motor cycles and boating but mostly enjoyed his family. Mr. LeNorman was preceded in death by his parents, and his first wife of 23 years, Alice Lucille LeNorman. Luby is survived by his loving family including his wife of 39 years, Annie LeNorman of Tyler; daughter, Ester Weiss and husband Jack of Euless; son, Kenneth LeNorman and wife Patricia of Newport News, VA; stepson, George Jones and wife Patricia of Flower Mound; stepdaughter, Monika Neill and husband Tommy of Eagle River, AK; brother, Duane LeNorman and wife Margaret of Bullard; grandchildren, Major Normand Burroughs and wife Catherine of Panama City, FL, David Neill of Las Vegas, NV, and Katherine Neill of Seattle, WA; and great-granddaughter, Alexandria Burroughs of Panama City, FL; nieces, Merri Oliver and Cory LeNorman; and grand nieces Alex LeNorman, Kelby Jo LeNorman, Quincy Owens and Jessica Hutchison. Pallbearers will be the nephews and grand nephews, Adam Hutchison, Stewart Oliver, David LeNorman, James LeNorman and Max LeNorman, and Mark Faught. Honorary pallbearers will be Peaberry White, Doc Sewell, Weldon Boggus, Curtis Oliphant, Roy Ramos, Oscar Gonzales, Ed Lee Renfro, Bill James, Archie Lockhart, Billy Ray Turk and Monte Beard. Visitation is scheduled from 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy, Tyler, Texas, 75703.
