Mark Zemer

Mark Douglas Zemer, 65, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 in Tyler. He was born April 3, 1952 in Jackson, Michigan to Norman and Marylyn Tremblay Zemer. Mark grew up on the lake in Michigan Center, where he said “this was the best place to grow up.” He graduated in 1970 from Michigan Center High School. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Marylyn, his beloved daughter Andrea Zemer Jenkins, and sister-in-law Pamela Zemer. He is survived by his loving family including his wife of 42 years, Katherine, son Jason and wife Heather of Lindale, TX, son-in-law Curtis Jenkins of Lindale, TX, grandchildren, Cameron and Jordan Jenkins, Morgynn, Makynli, Meabri Zemer, siblings Kathleen(Kathleen), Christopher(Joy), Matthew, John(Laurie), Patrick, David(Barbara), several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mark and Kathy moved to Tyler in 1978 where Mark began his business, Zemer’s Tree Maintenance in 1982. Mark was a skilled arborist, beautifying the area of Tyler. Z instilled a strong work ethic in his crew and took pride in their work. Mark loved to play softball with his buddies. He played for 25 years with his team, Borrowed Time. He was fun loving and enjoyed the outdoors. Mark and Kathy often explored the open roads on his motorcycle. Mark was a family man. As the first born, he learned the responsibility of caring for family and the joy of being part of family. He had many adventures with his brothers and sister, Mark and his siblings loved being together, they have a bond that only strengthened with time. Family continued to be Mark’s center as a husband, father, and grandfather. He was 100% committed to Kathy, Andrea and Jason, and his grandchildren. Mark says to all, Z U! Visitation is scheduled from 6:00 - 8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. Services for Mark will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Deacon Hal Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Park Cemetery in Tyler. Pallbearers will be his brothers, Christopher, Matthew, John, Patrick, David and his son Jason. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lindale School Athletic Booster Club, 920 E. Hubbard St, Lindale, TX 75771.
