Services for Marvin Jimmy Brown, 76 of Bullard, are scheduled for Friday, June 8, 2007 at 10:30 AM at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Brother Tony Hays and Brother Roy Theone officiating. Burial will follow in the Cathedral In The Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Brown passed away, Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. He was born April 24, 1931 in Jacksonville, TX to the late Tom and Susie Brown. He was a member of the County Line Baptist Church and also a part of the Men's Sunday School Class of County Line Baptist Church. Marvin (MJ) was raised in Cherokee County and served his country as a CPL in the Army during the Korean War in the Tank Company of the 142 Infantry. After being Honorably Discharged he moved back to East Texas and met his future wife Laura Hays and they were later married on June 20, 1958. He was a mechanic foreman for Tyler Pipe and worked there for 31 years retiring in 1986. Marvin adored his grandchildren and music and loved to fish and work with his hands. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Coby Scott Deese; brothers Aurthur and Burt Brown. Marvin is survived by his loving family including his beloved wife of 49 years, Laura Brown of Bullard; son Lynn Brown of Flint; daughters, Darla Brown of Bullard, Donna Dean and husband Don of Flint, and Yvonne Deese and husband Tommy of Bullard; grandchildren, Dusty Dean, Lindsay Brown, Niki Deese, and Bryn Deese; great granddaughter, Tatym Colby Todd; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Dusty Dean, Gaylon Metcalf, Mike Balfay, Jasper Curtis, Frank Glenn, and John Langston. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class of County Line Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM June 7, 2007, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy., Tyler, Texas 75703.
