Mary Patricia "Pat" Cawley

June 21, 2026, Mary Patricia (Pat) Cawley of Tyler Texas passed away peacefully at Mother Francis Hospital with her husband and children present. Her family is deeply saddened by her death. Pat was born at the Nix Hospital in San Antonio Texas on October 23, 1937 to Antoinette Meyer Allen and William T. Allen. She had one brother (William T. Allen JR, deceased) Pat is survived by Richard (Dick) Cawley (spouse of 43 years), Scott Allen Phillips (son) and wife Alicia, Kimberly Christine Phillips (daughter) and wife Robin Bingham, Elizabeth Alison Hoard (daughter) and husband Michael, Lisa Cawley-Romero (step-daughter) and husband Arnoldo, Rick Cawley (step-son) and wife Jennifer. Pat is also survived by grandchildren Stacy Perry, Ashley Robinson, Alexandra Lensing, Rachel Phillips and Andrew Hoard, and step-grandchildren Ana Romero and Abigael Johnston as well as six great grandchildren. Mary Patricia, referred to as Mary Pat or Pat by many, attended her school years in San Antonio Texas. In Junior High she was a member of Lassos, a pep squad. In High School she was inducted into the National Honor Society in her junior year. She was also a member of the Girls Cadet Corps with the rank of Major. Pat graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. Pat was inducted into the Alpha Lambda Delta (Freshman Honor Sorority) and joined the Delta Gamma Social Sorority. Pat taught for 21 years in Dallas, Ft.Worth, HEB, and Coppell ISDs. Pat was an accomplished Bridge player; she earned The Silver Life Master Award. Pat played her beloved game of Bridge for most of her adult life. Pat and Dick also enjoyed square dancing for many years with the Rambling Roses Square Dance Club. Pat was a member at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church where she served on the Cathedral Alter Society. Pat and Dick shared a love of travel and were blessed to be able to visit many wonderful destinations throughout Europe and the United States. In addition, Pat was able to take her dream trip to the Vatican City in Italy where she was so excited to have seen the Pope. Pat will be missed dearly. Rosary will be Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a visitation at Stewart Family Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with interment on Friday, June 26, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Waco Memorial Park in Waco, Texas.
