Mary A. Krafve

Services for Mary Krafve, 84, of Tyler will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Stewart Family Funeral Home with John Prestridge officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2013 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral home. Mary passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at her residence. She was born April 16, 1929 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Oscar and Myrtle Lund. As a little girl, she came to believe in Jesus at Vacation Bible School. Mary was a member of Woods Baptist Church where she cherished her time worshiping with her Sunday school class. She also enjoyed many years in BSF-Bible Study Fellowship. She was known for her commitment to her Christian faith and she was a true crusader for Christ. She will be missed for her devotion to her family, her tender demeanor and her warm embrace. Mary had a beautiful smile and always made you feel welcome. Mary volunteered for the Salvation Army, Angel Tree and was a member of the Republican Women's Club. She was an avid bridge player, quilt maker, and a wonderful cook. She always looked forward to walking at the mall and having coffee with her friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Bill Krafve. Bill and Mary began their marriage and family in San Antonio. In 1967 they moved to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to begin an adventure in the oil patch. They settled in Tyler in 1976, spending many vacations in Whitefish, Montana. She is survived by her loving family including, David William Krafve and wife Cathy Primer Krafve of Flint, Richard Lund Krafve and wife Leslie of Round Rock, daughter, Ann Krafve Howard and husband Stephen of Katy; grandchildren, Anna Krafve Pierce and husband Drew, Ellen Krafve, William Charles Krafve, Matthew Howard and Stephanie Howard. Pallbearers will be Harold Richardson, Kevin Storey, Jim Lightfoot, Tejan Cunningham, Les Ellsworth, Carl Jeter, Jim Martin and Keith Hilliard. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Bible Study Fellowship, 19001 Huebner Rd., San Antonio, TX 78528, The Bethesda Health Clinic, 409 W. Ferguson, Tyler 75702 or The Hospice of East Texas Foundation , 41111 University Blvd., Tyler 75701.
