Mary Lynn Tuttle

Services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Tyler with the Bishop Joseph Strickland officiating and concelebrates Fr. Francis O’Dowd and Fr. Mark Dunne. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. A reception will follow at the Cathedral Center. Mary Lynn Tuttle, 88, passed away on Sunday, July 6th in Tyler, Texas. Born June 23, 1926 to Grover and Agnes Hendrick Cecil, Mary Lynn grew up in Wichita Falls with her two brothers, O.B. and Grover, and her sister, Bernice. Mary Lynn met Levelle “Dutch” Tuttle and they were married in Dallas, Texas. They were blessed with three children: Brian, Janet, and Jeanne. Dutch and Mary Lynn made life-long friends in each of the cities they lived in before settling in Tyler in 1963 to raise their family. More than a loving wife and mother, Mary Lynn was a savvy business woman who owned and operated Steamatic of East Texas until her retirement in 1991. During her career, she was highly respected by her employees and her peers as both a mentor and business person. After retirement, Mary Lynn continued to play an integral role in the direction and success of the company that she established in 1969. Mary Lynn was a devoted member of the Catholic Church who served the diocese faithfully as a volunteer and active parishioner. She was active in the Tyler community as a business-owner, member of many civic, church and charitable organizations. Mary Lynn loved listening to big band music, playing bunko with friends and spending time with her family who will miss her guidance and inspiration. Those who knew her will miss her most for her incredible sense of humor, strength of character and a door that was always open to friends and family. Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her siblings; her husband, Levelle; and her daughter, Janet. She is survived by her loving family including her son, Brian; daughter, Jeanne Ramunni and son-in-law, Louis; her granddaughter, Julie Franklin and her husband, Ron Jr.; her grandsons, James Brian Tuttle, Jr., and his wife, Leah; Clint Tuttle and his wife, Julie Wimmer; Craig Heitmiller; Brad Heitmiller; and Scott Ramunni. She will also be greatly missed by her three great-grandchildren: Camille, Everett "Rett" and Charlotte Franklin. Pallbearers will be J.B. Tuttle, Jr., Clint Tuttle, Craig Heitmiller, Brad Heitmiller, Scott Ramunni and Ron Franklin, Jr. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, July 10th, 2014, with a rosary following at 7 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
