Nancy Kay Fisher

Nancy Kay Fisher, 63 of Flint, Texas went to Heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 21, 2023. She was born in Springfield, Missouri to Lawrence Herbert Carty and Shirley Ann Carty December 5, 1959. Nancy graduated from Hillcrest High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Southwest Missouri State University. She was married to her high school sweetheart Kenneth Jeffry Fisher on July 23, 1983. They would be celebrating 40 years of marriage this year. Nancy worked up until the day she gave birth to Tyler, and then her children become her world. Anyone who knew her knew what a devoted mother she was and how present she was in all activities and aspects of their lives. She was the world’s best Home Room Mom, Team Mom and always made sure her children knew how much she loved them. But most importantly, she taught them the love of Jesus not only through her words but more with the shining example of how she lived her life by pointing everything back to Jesus. She was a dedicated member of Green Acres Baptist Church. When the kids were in high school Nancy reentered the workforce at the Chapter 13 Trustee’s office where her coworkers quickly became family. Nancy retired in January 2021 to travel and spend more time with her family. Nancy deeply cherished her two journeys to the Holy Land where she was baptized by Pastor David Dykes in the Jordan River like her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The smile and absolute joy that radiated off her face whenever she was in the presence of her four grandsons could not be matched. She was the best Yaya to her boys. She was preceded in death by her loving mother Shirley Carty. Survived by her husband Jeffry Fisher; son and daughter-in-law Kenneth “Tyler” and Claire Alison Fisher; daughter and son-in-law Alexa Blake and Kevin “Blake” Turman; grandsons Bodie, Dean and Cane Fisher, Rocky Turman; father Lawrence Carty; sister Cheryll Cole; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tyler Fisher, Blake Turman, David Maxwell, Hunter Maxwell, Jason Hicks and Chase Hicks. Honorary pallbearers will be Bodie Fisher, Dean Fisher, Cane Fisher and Rocky Turman. Visitation services for Nancy will be held on Thursday, April 27, 2023 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. Funeral Service will be Friday April 28, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home. Pastor Dr. David O. Dykes officiating. Graveside services for Nancy will be immediately after funeral services at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
