Norma Jean Jackson

Services for Norma Jean Westmoreland Jackson, 87, of Tyler will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at First Assembly of God Tyler with Pastor Bill Cooper and Pastor Randall McDonald officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Park in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Jackson passed away Friday, November 18, 2022 in her Tyler home. She was born January 1, 1935 in Oil City, Louisiana to Samuel B. and Eva Ray Westmoreland. Norma was a member of First Assembly of God in Tyler Texas. She graduated from Sabine High School in 1953. She held a position in accounting with Sun Oil Company. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel B. and Eva Ray Westmoreland. Her sister, Kathryn Speer; brothers, Sam Westmoreland Jr., Lewis Ray Westmoreland and Charles Westmoreland; her son, Michael Thomas Jackson and grandson, Kyle Ellis. She is survived by her loving family including husband of 67 years, Joe Jackson of Tyler. Her two daughters, Kathi Jackson Ellis (Andy) of Waxahachie and Sandra Jackson Helfrich (Jerry) of Brandon, Florida; grandchildren, Thomas Jason Holcomb (Brandi) of Tyler, John Allen Helfrich of Forney, Jenna Grace Helfrich of Brandon Florida and Jim Ellis of Dallas; great-grand-children Jenna Lee and Jhasper Ellis of Dallas; and her little dog, Beaux. Pallbearers will be Jason Holcomb, John Allen Helfrich, Andy Ellis, Jerry Helfrich, Garrett Holcomb, and Nathan Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Harper and Tim Williams. Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of the Cardiology and Heart Failure Clinics as well as the staff of 5 Heart of the Louis and Peaches Owen Heart Hospital.
