Olivia Nolley

A celebration of life for Olivia Ann Nolley, 11, will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, 301 West Ferguson Street in Tyler with Rev. Mario Zandstra and Jay Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 PM at Pierces Chapel Cemetery in Jacksonville under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Olivia passed away on November 3, 2010 at her home in Tyler. She was born on January 29, 1999 to Stan and Judy Nolley and was a lifelong resident of Tyler. Olivia was a sixth grader at Grace Community School in Tyler, where she was named honorary captain at Grace’s first home football game of the year. Olivia loved animals and the outdoors, and enjoyed art. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Tyler. Through her year-long struggle with anaplastic astrocytoma, a rare form of cancer, Olivia influenced many lives. The strength and courage that was given to her by God allowed her to set an example of living life to its fullest. Olivia was preceded in death by her father, Stan Nolley; grandfather, Ed Oliver. She is survived by her mother, Judy Nolley; sister, Alicia Nolley; maternal grandmother, Ann Oliver; paternal grandparents, Frazier and Bobbie Nolley; great-grandmother, Alvalyn Jowell; aunts and uncles, Steven and Teri Nolley, Jana and Matt Mueller; and cousins, Trevor Nolley and Chris Mueller. Pallbearers will be Andy Johns, Connor Johns, Rick Rogers, David Stewart, Mike Brown, and Jeffrey Abeldt. Honorary pallbearers will be the sixth grade boys from Grace Community School. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, November 5, 2010 from 4:00-6:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler. Olivia’s favorite Bible passage was Psalm 100: “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his Name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” Memorial gifts should be made in honor of Olivia Nolley to Grace Community School, Olivia’s Garden, 3001 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
