Paul William Eyley

Services for Paul William Eyley, 69, of Flint, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023 at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Gage officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023. Burial will be at Bascom Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Eyley passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023, in Flint. His family was by his side as he crossed over to Heaven after fighting a short battle with melanoma. He was born July 27, 1954 in Tyler to Hershel and Jane Eyley. Paul’s career job at Halliburton Energy Services lasted for almost 43 years. Paul did his job at Halliburton with dedication, pride, and love. Even though it took him away on holidays and important events, his family always worked with him and they still celebrated maybe a day or so late! After an unexpected early retirement from his lifetime job, Paul went to work for Hangers of Hope and found a more rewarding job and a whole new family. Hangers of Hope showed him more love and friendship for three and a half years than he ever could have imagined. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Hershel and Jane Eyley, and stepson, Bradley Keith Martin. He is survived by his loving family including his loving wife of 35 years, Yolanda; son, Travis Eyley (Lauri); daughter, Shana Laney (Jamie); stepdaughter, Ashley Nieto (Alfredo); grandchildren, Brandon and Emily Shires, Nathan Eyley, Mason Gilpin, Mazzy and Julian Nieto; sister, Lisa Carlile (Freddie); nephew, Chris Carlile (Marla); great-nieces and nephews, Katelyn Beam (Coleman); and Taylor Ann Carlile and Christopher Carlile. Pallbearers will be Travis Eyley, Jamie Laney, Alfredo Nieto, Chris Carlile, Mason Gilpin, Brandon Shires and Nathan Eyley. Honorary pallbearers Val Chavez and the crew at Hangers of Hope. Paul’s family would like to thank Texas Oncology, Dr. J. Su, and all his nursing staff for their help as well as The Hospice of East Texas for their care for the last 3 weeks. Paul’s wife, Yolanda, would also like to personally thank Lisa, Paul’s sister, for the unending trips to the doctor and for staying with Paul for hours on end.
