Randy Lee Hunt

Randy Hunt, 70, of Tyler, TX passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2026. Born on August 26, 1955, Randy was the son of the late Elbert Lee Hunt and Flora LaNell Hunt. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud Papa, and faithful friend whose life was marked by hard work, laughter, and an unwavering love for his family. Randy spent his career in the Instrumentation Department at CB&I/Howe Baker, where he was respected for his dedication, strong work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand. Even after a long day’s work, he rarely sat still. Whether he was tending his garden, working on a project, or spending time outdoors, Randy always found joy in keeping busy. An avid outdoorsman, Randy loved deer hunting and dove hunting. He found peace in nature and treasured the friendships and memories made in the field. He was also known for his wonderful sense of humor and always had a joke ready to brighten someone’s day. Above all else, Randy’s greatest joy was his family. He loved his wife, children, and grandchildren with all his heart. His grandchildren, Addison and Brayden, held a special place in his life, and he treasured every moment with them. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, storytelling, and his well-known sweet tooth- he never passed up a candy or a bowl of ice cream. Randy is survived by his wife of almost 49 years, Sherry Hunt; his daughter, Nicole Dickerson and husband, Phillip of Tyler; his sons, Colton Hunt of Austin and Tyler Hunt of Tyler; his cherished grandchildren, Addison Dickerson and Brayden Dickerson of Tyler; his brother and sister-in-law, Eddy and Edith Hunt of Houston; his sister, Ronda Hunt of Houston; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bobby and Karen Pinkerton of Austin; his sister-in-law, Ginger Pinkerton of Tyler; and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Lee Hunt and Flora LaNell Hunt, and his brother, Tom Max (Dooley) Hunt. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, Texas. A funeral service will immediately follow at the funeral home. Randy will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, generous heart, unwavering love for his family, and the laughter he shared so freely. His kindness, humor, and example will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever be a blessing.
