Richard Malloy

Memorial service for Richard A. "Dick" Malloy, 88, Tyler, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 16, 2005, at First Christian Church with Dr. Jeff Wilson officiating. A private graveside service will be at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday in Tyler Memorial Park under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M., Tuesday at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old. Jacksonville Hwy., South Tyler, 75703. Mr. Malloy passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2005 after a short illness. He was born on May 19, 1916 in Ferris, TX and moved to Tyler in 1925. He graduated from Tyler High School, attended the Federal Institute School of Business and Tyler Junior College. He was a longtime Real Estate Broker and owner of Malloy Realty Company. He was Past President of the Tyler Board of Realtors and was named Realtor of the Year in 1974. He was Past President of the Tyler Lions Club and member and Elder Emeritus of the First Christian Church. He was a member of the Men?s Fellowship Sunday School Class and was an avid golfer. Mr. Malloy was preceded in death by his parents, William Charles Malloy, Sr. and Florence A. Walsh Malloy, and brothers, Charles Malloy, Lawrence Malloy, Philip Malloy, and Robert Malloy. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances Thorndike Malloy; son, Richard A. Malloy, Jr. and wife, Terry, of Longview; daughter, Janet Simonds of Tyler; three grandsons, Matt Malloy and wife, Michelle, of Longview, Marc Malloy and wife, Amy, of Granbury, and Chip Simonds and wife, Heather, of Tyler; two sisters, Sarah Malloy Guthrie of Big Spring and Virginia Malloy Olson and husband, Bill, of Houston; four great-granddaughters, Madelyn and Maylea Malloy of Longview, Haley and Kaitlyn Malloy of Granbury; two step-grandchildren, Sloan and McCall Springer of Longview. Pallbearers will be Matt Malloy, Marc Malloy, Chip Simonds, Bill Burney, A. K. Thorndike, and Tommy Rowell. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men?s Fellowship Class of First Christian Church.
