Robbie Primrose

A celebration of life memorial service for Robbie “Jo” Primrose, 75, of Tyler will be held Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Galilee Room of Green Acres Baptist Church with Dr. John A. Dawson officiating. Interment will be at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Primrose passed away May 9, 2010 at her home in Tyler. She was born December 17, 1934 in Huntington to the late Ben and Alma Scarborough. Her family moved to Beaumont where she attended South Park High School. She later married Bruce Primrose, and they moved to Tyler in 1959, where they raised their family and Mrs. Primrose enjoyed working part time in her husband’s business. After her children were grown, Mrs. Primrose worked in the insurance industry and also enjoyed her time spent as a consultant for BeautiControl Cosmetics. Mrs. Primrose later assisted her grandson in establishing his practice and was the first employee at East Texas Family Chiropractic. She was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church, where she was active in the Betty Reedy Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Bullard Order of Eastern Star #972. Her husband, her children and grandchildren were the joy of her life. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Primrose was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Scarborough; brother, Avery Scarborough; and brother-in-law, J.T. Stewart. She is survived by a loving family including her husband of 52 years, Bruce Primrose; four children, Debby Wilson, Benjie Permenter and husband Randy, Phyllis Primrose, Brent Primrose and wife Holly, all of Tyler; grandchildren, Dr. Benjamin Wilson, Patrick Permenter and wife Lindsey, Alex Permenter, Emily Primrose, and Clayton Primrose; one brother, Bob Scarborough and wife Betty of Tyler; two sisters, Shirley Stewart of Flint and Faye Bledsoe and husband Jerry of Nederland; a sister-in-law, Mildred Scarborough of Lumberton and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be nephews, Mike Stewart, Gary Stewart, Keith Stewart, Darrin Bledsoe, Kevin Bledsoe, Charlie Scarborough, Pete Scarborough, and Gary Maclin. The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. C. Allen Stringer and his staff at Texas Oncology, the Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Dr. William Hyman and staff at Texas Oncology in Tyler, the staff of The Walk for Life Program, and Hospice of East Texas for all their loving kindness, words of comfort, and professionalism. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
