Royce Harold Bullard

Memorial services will be held Thursday, August 24th at 10:00 AM at the Emerald Bay Community Church, Bullard, Texas. Royce Harold Bullard, 78, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 in Tyler, and he was born August 29, 1938 in Dunbar, Texas to Archie Edward Bullard and Lottie Harvey Bullard. He was a proud graduate of London High School, New London, Texas the class of 1957. He married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Wheelis on June 4, 1960, at London Baptist Church, New London, TX. At that time he worked at Thikol in Karnack, Texas. They moved to Tyler in 1965 to work for Kelly Springfield. He retired from Goodyear (Kelly Springfield) in August of 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Lottie Bullard, his grandparents, Mabel and Edward Mays. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Trish) and children Teresa Hubbell (Judd) of Tyler; Tracey Young of Lavon, TX; Scott Bullard (Stefanie) of New Braunfels; Papaw’s favorite grandson Joshua Young (Crystal) of Wylie, and granddaughters Papaw’s “beautiful babies”, Halle Bullard and Hanna Bullard of New Braunfels; and Papaw’s great-granddaughter Ivy Grace Young (whom he called Peanut) of Wylie, Texas and Aunt Margie Harvey and Cousin Dale Harvey who reside in Emory, TX. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Gibson, Jack Compton, Larry Hodge, Buddy Kelly, Lee Wheelis, David Wheelis, Thomas Fields and Judd Hubbell. Royce loved God and his family, drag racing, golf (Jack Nicklaus), fishing, watching the Cowboys and Texas Rangers, chicken fried steak and a ’55 black two door hard top Chevy Bel Aire, with a 265 cam with 4 on the floor and racing clutch. Not necessarily in that order. His favorite place on earth was the #16 hole at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia, where it is remembered that he slipped a golf ball in the pond with his children’s name on it.
