Dr. Seth Womack FAAEM

Tyler, TX – It is with deep sorrow that the family of Dr. Seth Patrick Womack announces his recent passing. Dr. Womack dedicated nearly two decades to emergency medicine across Texas, Louisiana, and Wisconsin treating over 36,000 patients and earning the respect and admiration of his peers for his unwavering commitment to patient care and medical excellence. After earning his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University, Seth received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. He completed his Emergency Medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin and Froedtert Memorial Lutheran Hospital, becoming board certified and later recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Dr. Womack served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UT Health Tyler and held positions in both level-1 trauma centers and freestanding emergency rooms throughout East Texas. He served on numerous hospital committees, including those focused on Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac Arrest Response, and Radiology Safety. He was known for his calm leadership in high-stakes situations and his life-saving interventions. He contributed to the legal field as an expert witness. While his work was extremely fulfilling, nothing compared to the time he spent with his family. Seth worked not only to provide for them but so they could feel secure, supported, and deeply loved. His greatest joy came from being a father, son, and brother—roles he cherished above all else. Seth's generosity extended far beyond his career; he gave freely of his time, energy, and heart to everyone he met. Seth is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sharon; his brother and best friend, Matthew (Laura); and his four cherished children, Paisley, Winston, Waylon, and Ivy. He is also survived by the children’s mother, Rachel; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a wide network of professional colleagues whom he considered his work family. He was preceded in death by his father, Michael W. Womack, and his half-brother, Michael S. Womack. A public visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler. A memorial service will follow on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the same location. In lieu of flowers, and if desired, the family asks that donations be made in Seth’s honor to the Heart of Louisiana Humane Society, P.O. Box 1057, Winnfield, Louisiana — a tribute to his beloved Frenchie, Hugo.
