Warren R. Medders

Services for Warren R. Medders, 88, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Thoene and Darrel Wise officiating. Burial will follow at Tyler Memorial Park under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Medders passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 in Tyler. He was born September 23, 1929 in Anniston, Alabama to Solomon R. Medders and Ruby Griffith Medders. Warren attended First Baptist Church Gresham. He worked at Tyler Pipe for 40 years where he held the position of supervisor, mold master and many other positions. Warren was happiest when he was hosting fish fries with his family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to tell his kids and grandchildren how proud he was of them. He enjoyed working on his land and in the yard. The latter years of his life were spent scrapping metal and iron. Warren was always self-sufficient, never relying on others, but always willing to help others when needed. Warren was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ila Mae Hunt Medders; his parents and three sisters, Carolyn, Dot and Aggie. He is survived by his loving family including son, Mike Medders of Bullard; daughter and son-in-law Renee and Nathan Parker of Flint; daughters,Charlene Neely of Huntsville, Alabama and Jan Lansdell of Tuscumbia, Alabama. He had 13 grandchildren, Meagan and Raymond Brooks, Jeremy and Casey Medders, Justin and Taylor Parker, Jonathan Parker, Jaden Medders, Jamie Parker, Haley Medders, Hannah Medders, Brooke Thomas and Austin Thomas. He had 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Donald McCary. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Medders, Justin Parker, Jonathan Parker, Jaden Medders, Raymond Brooks and Jake Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Donald McCary, Charlie Ashcraft, Chuck Horton, William Rouse and Leonard Bailey. The family would like to thank Meadow Lake Senior Living staff and care givers for their compassionate love and care over the last few months. Also, many thanks to West Tyler Dialysis Center for their tender care over the past two years. Visitation is scheduled from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
