William Wade Parsons

Memorial services for William Wade Parsons, 77, of Bullard will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Emerald Bay Community Church in Bullard with Rev. Darryle Dunks and Alan Robertson officiating, under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. William Wade Parsons went home to be with his loving Lord and Savior on Thursday, April 2, 2015. He will look after his loving family from his heavenly home, especially his beloved wife of 56 years, Ann, as well as his devoted daughters Yvonne Parsons of Friendswood, Texas, and Kahne Parsons of Hawkins, Texas. In addition to these immediate family members, Wade is survived by Kahne’s husband, James “Jim” Walker; granddaughter Kristy Scoggins Faulks and her husband, Shane, as well as great-granddaughters Emma, Ava, and Lana, all of Tyler; grandson William Robert “Robbie” Tomaro and his wife Taylor of Pearland; sisters Claire Parsons of Tucson, AZ; Frances Jones of Bossier City; Freda Ratcliff and husband Don of Minden, LA; and many nieces and nephews. Wade was born on April 11, 1937, in Flora, LA, to Iona Missouri (Dowden) and John Alhaud Parsons. He graduated from Fair Park H.S., and Northwestern State College in 1959, and then joined the U. S. Army, where he was commissioned a second lieutenant. He married his college sweetheart, Elizabeth Ann Carroway of Ida, LA, on August 9, 1959. The couple resided at various Army postings in Georgia, Texas, and Colorado. After leaving Army service in 1963, Wade moved into the oil business with Standard Oil of Indiana (Amoco), where he remained until retiring in 1994. He and Ann chose to enjoy their “golden years” in Emerald Bay, where Wade enjoyed perfecting his golf game and singing in the choir at Emerald Bay Community Church. Wade’s family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks for all the love and support they have received in these last, trying days as Wade severed his earthly bonds.
