Willie Joice Tilley Carson

Willie Joice Carson was born to the late E.J. Tilley and Ethel Fry Franklin. She was the fourth of their five children. Joice graduated from Bel Air High School in El Paso, Texas, in 1966, where she was honored as a debutante. She attended the University of Texas at El Paso and worked for Mountain Bell Telephone Company when she met the love of her life, Chief Warrant Officer Five Frederick M. Carson. They were united in marriage in 1970 and shared many happy years together. Joice was a fun-loving person who enjoyed traveling and exploring the world. Among her favorite destinations were Germany, France, and Switzerland. She also enjoyed walking, bowling, swimming, and spending time with family and friends while playing pinochle, spades, and dominoes. Joice was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 30, 1989. Her faith was deeply important to her, and she faithfully devoted much of her time to sharing with others the hope she cherished: the Bible’s promise of a beautiful future and everlasting life on a paradise earth. She remained steadfast in her faith throughout her life, finding great joy and comfort in encouraging others with that hope. Joice was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Eddie Faye Radford. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Frederick Carson of Bullard, Texas; her daughter, Tia Nicole Carson, and granddaughter, Sloane Joice Carson, of Frisco, Texas; her sister, Barbara Parks of Dallas, Texas; and her brothers, George Tilley Sr. (Hazel Tilley) and Ernest J. Tilley, both of Bullard, Texas. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, warmth, and unwavering faith. Though Joice will be deeply missed by her family and friends, they find comfort in the Bible’s promise of the resurrection. She looked forward to the fulfillment of God’s promises found in John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:3, 4, when those who have died will be brought back to life and death, sorrow, pain, and suffering will be no more. Her loved ones cherish the hope of seeing her again in God’s promised new world, where they can once again enjoy her love, laughter, and faithful spirit.
