Services for Cynthia Nell Towns Barnes, 74, of Tyler will be held on Friday, January 14, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. David Brian Stinecipher officiating. Burial will follow at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Barnes passed away Sunday, January 9, 2021 in Tyler. She was born January 21, 1947 in Tyler to Sterling Emory Towns and Helen Virginia Cades Towns. Cynthia graduated from John Tyler High School, class of 1965. She attended Tyler Junior College and Stephen F. Austin State University. She enjoyed sewing, crafting and being with people, including her JT 65 Ladies whom she had lunch with each month. Cynthia was preceded in death by her husband of seventeen years, Oscar Teegerstrom and her husband of eighteen years, Waymann Barnes. She is survived by her loving family including son, Erik Teegerstrom and his wife, Jessica Teegerstrom; daughter, Kristina Teegerstrom and her partner, John Nommensen; grandson, Carl Teegerstrom and Jocelyn Suarez; grandson, Kristian Teegerstrom and his wife, Emily Teegerstrom; her sister, Cecilia Towns; her beloved dance partner, Buddy Gentry; and her fur babies, Penelope and Sweetie Pie. Pallbearers will be Erik Teegerstrom, Carl Teegerstrom, Kristian Teegerstrom, John Nommensen, Robert Hubbard, and Ed Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Towns, Pat Towns, Lee Hubbard, Gregg Benefiel, Danny Alexander and David Scott. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 14, 2021 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
