Don Stover, Jr., age 92, of Tyler, Texas passed away, Friday, March 4, 2022. He was born October 13, 1929 in Greenville, Texas. He was a loving husband, father of three, grandfather of six and great-grandfather of eight. He was a press operator for Tyler Morning Telegraph and traveled to various other newspapers to assist them with setting up and operating their presses. Later he became a local business operator owning and operating full service gas stations in the Tyler area. He was a volunteer deputy sheriff with the sheriff’s department when needed and was an active volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Prior to retiring, he worked for The University of Texas at Tyler as a groundskeeper. His passions were fishing, landscaping and gardening, story-telling and serving and praising the Lord through church service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don Stover, Sr. and Sally Pearl Grotts Stover; brother, Ray Leon Stover; and wife of 56 years, Kathryn Coralyn Stover. Those left to cherish his memory are children, Timothy Stover (Sharon), Linda Eckert and Daniel Stover (Carla); 6 grandchildren, Miranda Benjamin, Jennifer Turner, Thaddeus Hughes, Jedidiah Hughes, Stephanie Clark and Christopher Stover; as well as 8 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends and have a graveside service at Bascom Cemetery in Tyler on Monday, March 14, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Park Robertson of Flint Baptist Church officiating.
