Jack Howard Hawthorne, 65, of Tyler passed away Thursday August 20, 2020 in Tyler. He was born January 30, 1955 in Port Arthur to David Hawthorne and Shirley Miguez Hawthorne. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, David Hawthorne and Shirley Hawthorne of Port Arthur, and his brother David “Davey” Hawthorne of Port Arthur. Jack was a 1973 graduate of Stephen F Austin High School in Port Arthur. Jack played All-State and All-District in high school football. He attended Lamar University graduating with a degree in Drafting. He continued his education at Del Mar University in Computer-Aided Drafting in Corpus Christi. He was an active member at Green Acres Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and attending the Great Expectations Sunday School class. Jack loved to travel, and loved the arts. Jack enjoyed spending time with family cooking and he loved to garden. Jack enjoyed drawing and sketching in his free time. Jack loved his family and loved his kids. Jack loved the Lord and loved sharing Jesus with others. He is survived by his loving family including his son, Travis Hawthorne and wife Stephanie of Bertram; his daughter, Casey McCoy and husband Jason of Tyler; his son, Paul Hawthorne and wife Lauren of Collegeville, Pennsylvania; and his daughter, Amy Hawthorne of St. Petersburg, Florida; eight grandchildren; brother, Lanny Hawthorne and wife Nicole of Beaumont; and sister, Melody Chronister and husband Don of Conroe; and many nieces and nephews.
