Services for James Joseph “Jim” Jagers, 65, of Bullard will be held on Friday, March 18th, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with the Most Rev. Bishop Joseph Strickland and the Very Rev. James Rowland officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Jim went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 14, 2022. He was born December 10, 1956 in Rayville, LA to Fred and Fannie Worley Jagers. Jim was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. He was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, leader, and teacher in Faith Formation in the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Tyler and Diocese of Cheyenne. Jim obtained his Emergency Medical Technician in the State of Texas. He was a Firefighter for 15 years and served as Fire Chief for Community Four VFD where he received Firefighter of the Year honor in 1999. Jim obtained the skills and knowledge to be a Class A Machinist. Jim worked many years as a Petroleum Landman and Abstractor across the United States. Jim had a passion for horses and was a real cowboy enjoying ranches across the State of Wyoming. His true love was history and studying scripture. His favorite book to teach was the Book of Romans. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his loving family including his best friend, Mary Sue Grappe Jagers; sons, James Jay Jagers and wife Lindsey and Jared Lane Jagers and fiancé Savanna; stepsons, Joseph Scott Antilley and wife Courtney, Brady Thomas Antilley, and Martin Davis Antilley and wife Jayla. He is survived by seven grandkids, Brandon, Mackenzie, Brantly, Jackson, Madison, Grayson, and Noah. Jim is survived by his siblings Cecil Jagers and wife Lalia, Deloris Copeland and husband Lynn, and Phyllis North and husband Jon; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Walter Meadows, Jimmy Magee, David Fesig, Tony Cussano, Bobby Magee, Adalberto Flores, Brian Scranton, and Robert Sterling, friends and co-workers from CATES Machine shop. Honorary pallbearer will be Randy Marion. Randy at twenty-six years of age gave Jim bone marrow which blessed Jim with nineteen more years of life after battling cancer for ten years. A Rosary is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. with visitation following on Thursday, March 17th, 2022, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler.
