Services for James Walker Mazingo, 68, of Mixon will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Mixon with Pastors Chris Cliborn and James L. Goforth officiating. Burial will follow at Siloam Cemetery near Buffalo under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mr. Mazingo passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021 in Mixon. He was born August 27, 1952 in Palestine to Clarence Preston Mazingo and Robbie Ann Mullenax Mazingo. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and proudly served his country in the Marines during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he attended the University of Houston. Enjoying his horses and watching his gladiolus and irises grow in the garden were favorite past times. He shared a special bond with his dog, Blue. James was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Mazingo. Those left to cherish his memory include his mother; his daughter, Jessica Mazingo-Wessels and husband, Jason; two brothers, Clint Mazingo and wife, Sheryl, and Dwain Mazingo; two sisters, Barbara McClain and husband Phil, and Leona Mayfield; nieces, nephews, numerous friends, and other extended family. Pallbearers will be Clint Mazingo, Robert Mullenax, Jason Wessels, Dwain Mazingo, Jason Mazingo, John McClain, and Charles McClain. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 30, 2021 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway in Tyler.
