A graveside service for Marilyn Sue Tidwell, 75, of Tyler will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Tyler with Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Tidwell passed away Sunday, February 14, 2021 in Tyler. She was born October 5, 1945 in Tyler to Clifton Rice Strother and Sarah Tucker Strother. She graduated from John Tyler High School. She held the position of accounting/bookkeeper with UT Health East Texas North Campus until retiring in 2007. More than anything, she loved her family and spent most of time with her husband and children. Though Marilyn’s health was failing for many years, few people know the extent to which she struggled. Her faith in God and love for her family kept her pushing through the pain. Through her we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. Marilyn was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Rice Strother; mother, Sarah Frances Strother; brother, Edgar Rice Strother; and niece, Kimberly Kai Strother. She is survived by her loving family including her husband, William “Wally” Tidwell; son, William Ryan Tidwell and wife Kristina Shultz Tidwell; daughter, Whitney Dyan Lacy and husband Bryan Christopher Lacy; daughter, Lindsey Renee Hebert and husband Brian Keith Hebert; brother, Clifton Craig Strother and wife Sherry Strother; aunt, Geneva Tucker; grandchildren, Felix Evan Tidwell, Wyatt Keith Hebert, Toby Christopher Lacy, and Everly Grace Hebert; nephew, Clinton Strother; nephew, Cameron Craig Strother and wife Jean Strother; niece, Kristie Strother; niece, Samantha Michelle Thompson and husband Buck Thompson; great-niece, Ella Rae Thompson; and great-nephew, Emmett Roy Thompson. Pallbearers will be William Ryan Tidwell, Bryan Christopher Lacy, Brian Keith Hebert, Cameron Craig Strother, Buck Thompson, and Russell Keith Hebert. Visitation is scheduled for 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
