Melodie Hope Nash

May 26, 1974 - November 20, 2021

Melodie Hope Nash, 47, of Bartlesville, OK and Whitehouse, TX passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Tyler. Hers was a life condensed but also filled with experience. It was marked by her family’s fierce dedication to opportunity without barriers. The desire for Melodie’s best life is now a solace in her death -- as all her earthly limits have now fallen away. Melodie was born May 26, 1974 in Borger, TX to Larry Lee Nash and Amelia Ruth Hoffman Nash. She, her parents, and sister, Rachel spent years in Borger before a brief stint in Richardson, TX, and a lasting move to Bartlesville, OK for Larry’s career. Melodie graduated from Bartlesville High School as a trumpet player in the BHS band. She studied at Tri-County Tech and received a Culinary Arts certification. Then she found a true passion selling AVON -- a personal business she started building just a year out of high school. Melodie went on to earn her Associates in Arts from Rogers State College in 1998. And she attended Oklahoma City University. Once back in Bartlesville, Melodie became focused on AVON achievements, earning the President’s Club award and the Rose Circle award for multiple years. She was a faithful member of East Cross United Methodist Church, working in their Mother’s Day Out program for several years. She also worked at Green Country Village Retirement Center. befriending everyone she met with near-instant conversation. Once in Texas, she continued to sell AVON while volunteering, notably at UT Health East Texas and Starbrite Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Along with her mother, Amelia, Melodie was a stalwart of the Lane’s Chapel’s annual Pumpkin Patch. Melodie also enjoyed multiple, far-flung vacations with her family, from London for the Olympics to Hawaii in recent years. Melodie is now reunited with her father, who preceded her into life eternal. She is survived by her mother, Amelia; her sister and brother-in-law, Rachel and Rob Mason; and her beloved niece, Miriana Mason; as well as cousins, aunts and uncles, and church family in Oklahoma. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Lane’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Tyler. A second celebration of life will be held in Bartlesville, OK in coming weeks. If desired, memorials may be made to Starbrite Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Whitehouse TX (https://starbritetyler.org/).
