Paul Lawrence Bauereis

December 2, 1931 - February 5, 2022

Paul L. Bauereis passed away February 5, 2022 at the age of 90. Paul was born in Kansas City, MO to Paul and Myrtle Bauereis on December 2, 1931. Paul was a decorated military army officer. He retired as a Lieutenant Colonel having accumulated a Bronze Star, 8 Air Medals (1 for valor), Army Commendation Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, and a number of campaign medals. He also earned his jump wings and Master Aviation Badge. Paul spent 2 years in Korea and thereafter a year in Vietnam. Paul spent his last years in the service as an instructor at the Command & General Staff College, Special Operation Section of the Department of division Operations at Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas where he authored the U.S. Army’s doctrine on all Air Mobile Operations. He retired to Dallas, Texas where he began his 2nd Career as a Real Estate Salesman with his father. He later taught real estate for 5 years while continuing to sell property. Paul loved to travel and entertain and later purchased a motor home. Unfortunately, Paul’s wife Barbara had passed away shortly after getting the motor home in 1997. Paul later moved from Dallas to Tyler. Before moving to Tyler, Paul met Ginny and were married in 1999. Ginny and Paul travelled throughout the U.S. enjoying the many sights. Paul continued being involved with the military organization for many years. Paul was selected as a staff member of the Military Order of the World Wars. Paul had said, “he looks forward to seeing all the family who left this earth and now resides in God’s Kingdom”. Paul is survived by his sons, Dave and Keith, who also joined the military – Dave the Army and Keith the Navy.
