Robert Lynn Waggener

Robert (Bob) Waggener, 67, passed from this life into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior on August 22, 2024, in Tyler, Texas after a courageous and hard fought battle with Alzheimer's. He was born on January 14, 1957, to Delbert Jack, Sr. and Mary Hellon Christopher Waggener. Following his graduation from John Tyler High School in 1976, Robert proudly served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve until 1979. He built a career of over 40 years employed with Oncor as a Senior Transmission & Distribution Meter Technician. Bob was a member of Central Baptist Church and loved his church family. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather (Pops) and a loyal friend to many. He loved sports and muscle cars, attending car shows and everything Nascar related. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face. Spending time at the lake with family and friends was his idea of the perfect weekend. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Delbert and Mary; brothers Delbert Jr. and Chris and sister Jacqueline. He is survived by his wife, Jan Waggener; children Justin Waggener, Cameron Waggener and wife Kasey; stepchildren Howard Rogers III and wife Jenny; Ashley Malpiedi and husband Andy; Taylor Rogers and wife Stacey; grandchildren Caleb Waggener; Cole and Emme Waggener; Reese, Avery, Olivia and Hudson Rogers; Asher, Archie and Audrey Malpiedi; Bowen and Hadley Rogers; sisters-in-law, Terri Waggener-Hinds and Cathy Waggener as well as many other beloved family members and friends. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 10:00 am (visitation at 9:00 am) at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler, Texas with Kim Beckham and Joel Byers officiating.
