Shirley Harris Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Graveside services for Shirley Harris, 87, of Amarillo will be held on Monday July 18, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at Cathedral in the Pines Memorial Gardens, 7825 S Broadway, Tyler, Tx. with minister John Horner of Nacogdoches Primitive Baptist church officiating under the direction of Stewart Family Home. Mrs. Harris passed Monday, July 18, 2022 in Amarillo. She was born in Sweetwater, Oklahoma to Harold and Nina Markley. Shirley was a member of the Tyler Primitive Baptist Church. She graduated from Dimmit High School in Dimmit, Texas. For many years Shirley and Orin owned and operated Smith County Builders in Tyler and were very active in the building community building many homes in Smith County and the surrounding area. Shirley and Orin were very involved in the church and looked forward to attending every chance they had to be with friends and the Lord. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband Orin of 30 years before his death November of 2009; son, Greg Hall; brother, Windell Markley; and parents, Harold & Nina Markley. She is survived by her loving family including daughters, Lisa Magee and husband Kelley of Amarillo, Tx, Vicki Harris Hager and husband Andrew of Houston Tx; sons, Kevin Harris and wife Beth of Katy, TX, Mark Harris of Murfreesboro, Tn.; grandchildren, Stephanie Smith and husband Paul of Amarillo, Tx, Haley, Whitney and Lisa Harris of Missouri City, Tx, Emily and Jacob Harris of Murfreesboro, Tn, Ethan Eaker of Houston, Tx.; great-grandchildren, Miles and Maggie Smith of Amarillo, Noelle Medina of Katy, Tx.; many good friends and contractors that they worked with over the years.
