Aloise Burton

Services for Aloise W. Burton, 82, Tyler, are scheduled for 1:00 P.M., Friday, August 12, 2005, at First Church of The Nazarene, 3700 Old Bullard Road in Tyler with Rev. Bill Taylor and Rev. Phil Ketcham officiating. Burial will be in Concord Cemetery in Concord, Texas under direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home. Mrs. Burton passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2005 in Tyler. Born to the late Calvin and Osie Martin Woodall in Concord, Texas, she attended Carlisle High School where she made many friends and met her husband "Strick". They were married June 1, 1940. They lived in Tyler, worked, and raised their two children. She was a member of the Tyler First Church of The Nazarene. She had many loving and caring friends that have always beein so supportive to her and her family over the past few weeks. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, going camping with the "Gophers", working with the Senior Adults at her church and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herschell, Weldon "Red" and Clyde Woodall; grandson, Jay Tyler Ward, and great-granddaughter, Rossalin Rena Knighton. Her surviving family includes her husband of 65 years, James Strickland Burton; son, Jim Burton; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Larry Ward all of Tyler, daughter-in-law, Jacque Anderson of Plano; grandchildren, Shay Burton of Tyler, Jami Wire of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Aaron Butcher of Plano, Cody Burton of Plano, Cicely Burton of Plano and Colton Ward of Tyler; great-granddaughter, Jordan Rielly Knighton of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Marylou Woodall of Troup; sister and brother-in-law Mary and W.C. Kirk of Bowie, Texas; sister-in-law, Francis Woodall; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins that were all so special to her. Pallbearers will be Cal Kirk, Chuck Sowders, Barry Burton, Shay Burton, Cody Burton and John Byerly. Honorary Pallbearers will be "The Prime Time Ministries Group". The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at The First Church of The Nazarene. Memorials in honor of Aloise Burton may be made to The Prime Time Senior Adult Ministries of First Church of The Nazarene.
