In Loving Memory of a Strong and Resilient Woman It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Belva Jo (Hearn) Carney, a beloved mother, who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her. She was a pillar of strength, navigating life's challenges with an unwavering determination and a spirit that never wavered. Belva was born April 5, 1933, to parents Grady and Loreen Hearn in Paris, Texas. She graduated from Paris High School, received an associate degree from Paris Junior College and bachelor and master degrees from East Texas State University. This extraordinary woman never complained, even in the face of adversity. Her resilience was a testament to her character, and she faced each day with a strength that inspired those around her. Her deep Christian beliefs guided her through life, providing comfort and solace in times of joy and sorrow. A brilliant mind, she was exceptionally smart and used her intelligence to nurture and support her family. Always standing by their side, she became the anchor of the family, offering unwavering support and love. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she dedicated herself to creating a warm and nurturing home. Her passion for sports was unparalleled, and she remained fiercely loyal to her favorite teams and players. Whether cheering for them from the sidelines or sharing the excitement with her family, her love for sports brought joy and camaraderie to countless moments. One of her greatest joys was when the family gathered together. She cherished these moments, creating a bond that transcended time and space. Her smile, radiant and full of warmth, had the power to light up any room. It was a reflection of the love she carried within her heart. Belva and her husband Thomas loved to travel, both domestic and abroad. They traveled to many countries and visited all 7 continents during their adventures. In honoring her memory, let us remember the strong, compassionate, and loving woman who touched our lives in profound ways. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that she so freely gave during her time with us. Above all her accomplishments and services, Belva will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, sister and friend. Belva is met in Heaven by her parents; husband, Thomas Carney and sister, Nancy Ann Schmal. Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Craig Carney, Kerry Carney and Sharilynn Jordan; brother Gerald Hearn; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and numerous family and friends who will miss Belva dearly. Memorial services for Belva Jo Carney, 90, of Tyler, will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Hwy, in Tyler.
