Carl "Trey" Nevils III

Carl Eugene “Trey” Nevils, III, age 56, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, with his family by his side. Trey was born on September 30, 1969, to Carl Nevils, Jr. and the late Susan Still. He married his true love, Julie, on August 17, 1991. They enjoyed 34 loving years together, not only as soulmates, but as best friends. Trey took pride in sharing his passion for the outdoors with others and found his greatest joy in being with his family. The majority of his time was spent with those he loved most, creating memories that will last forever. Trey held a deep love for his family, his friends, and his faith. Trey was the kind of man who never met a stranger. He had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and important the moment they met him. He worked hard, loved harder, and carried a quiet strength that made those around him feel safe. His witty sense of humor will forever keep us entertained. Trey was a beloved husband, son, father, brother, friend, and grandfather, proudly known as “T.” He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. Trey was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Still, and his stepfather, Joseph M. Still, Jr., MD. He is survived by his loving wife, Julie Nevils; his children, Carlie Tomlin (Josh) and Dalton Nevils (Delaney); his father, Carl Nevils, Jr., and stepmother, Gail Nevils; and his siblings, Ronda Still (Steve Bracci), Gena McNair (Jeff), Ryan Nevils (Amber), Brooke Jackson (Will), Bobby Williams, Eddie Still (Mary Lou), Jesse Still (Jill), Susan Still Kilrain (Colin), Kenny Still (Paige), Ronnie Breazeale (Becky), Gabrielle Steves (Scott), and Donna Simon; as well as four grandchildren: Makenzie Tomlin, Myla Tomlin, Ace Tomlin, and Wrenley Nevils. A service to celebrate Trey’s life will be held Sunday, April 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Kiokee Baptist Church in Appling, GA. with the Rev. Bobby Smith officiating.
