Carlos Lind Jr.

Carlos Lind Jr. passed away on Friday, February 18, 2022, at the age of 58 after suffering from a sudden, unexpected stroke. He was born on August 22, 1963, in New York. After spending the first decade of his life in New York, his family returned to their home country of Puerto Rico where Carlos attended Luz America Calderon High School and in 1988 graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature and history. For over 25 years, Carlos proudly served his country as an active duty enlisted soldier in the US Army. His duty stations included California, Honduras, Alaska, Germany, Macedonia, Missouri, Puerto Rico, Florida and finally Texas. He retired in 2015 as an E-8, First Sergeant. Shortly after his retirement from his military career, Carlos started working for the U.S. Department of Veteran’s Affairs at the Tyler VA where he held the position of Advanced Telehealth Clinical Technician. Carlos was known for his big, bright smile and his good heart. His love language was “acts of service” which he followed through until the very end by electing to be an organ donor to save the lives of others. Carlos enjoyed life and he was grateful for the blessings he was given, especially his children. He was passionate about sports. He loved being physically active and fit, and he tried to instill that in his children. He has always been an avid runner, but he also enjoyed bicycling, playing basketball, softball, practicing jiu jitsu, and following soccer. Music was a big part of Carlos’ life. He was always listening to a wide variety of genres. He furthermore loved dancing and even won a few salsa dancing competitions back in the days. Carlos liked cooking and eating good food. He loved all things technology, including computers and cars – especially BMWs. He enjoyed traveling the world and learning about different cultures and customs. Carlos is survived by his loving family, including his wife, Elisabeth Lind, his children, Karla Lind (11), Gabriel Lind (9), and Joangelie Lind (31), his parents, Carlos Lind Sr. and Isabel Lind, his sister, Wendy, Wendy’s husband, Hector, as well as his nieces, Tabatha and Nathalia. Memorial services for Carlos Lind Jr., resident of Tyler Texas, will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, at 2 pm at Stewart Family Funeral Home. We will be celebrating Carlos’ life and the love and passion he had and encourage those attending his service to wear colorful clothing to represent that. Carlos Lind, Alias “Junipy” Junipy como cariñosamente le decimos familiares y amigos fue el mejor tipo que he conocido. Carolinense por decisión y Salsero de vocación. Fuerte pero sentimental, gruñon pero amable, familiar y excelente hijo, hermano, padre y esposo. Desde pequeño se destacó como atleta de pista y campo. Representado con mucho orgullo a los gallitos de la UPR en las competencias atléticas universitarias. Entro a las fuerzas armadas siendo aún muy joven y rindió servicios hasta su jubilación. Destacándose como reclutador hasta llegar a dirigir toda el área de reclutamiento latino . Amo a sus hijos sobre todas las cosas, dándole tiempo y calidad de vida hasta su último respiro. Nunca dejo atrás a ningún amigo y le dio la mano a todo aquel que necesito de él. Carlos hizo tantos amigos verdaderos en sus 58 años de vida, que es difícil de creer, pero hasta en su momento más difícil todos dijeron presente. Vivió una gran vida, amo, amo y volvió amar, viajo, disfruto su música, sus carros , sus sueños y su matrimonio. Contó siempre con sus padres, los amó y apoyó cada día de su vida. A los 58 ya se sabía realizado, pues había hecho el doble de las cosas que un hombre de su edad. Siempre fue bueno y cálido y muy querido. Esto no puede ser una despedida querido Junipy sino un Hasta luego. Celebramos tu vida hasta que nos volvamos a encontrar. Descansa en Paz
